when i think of hot chocolate...

when i think of hot chocolate, i remember mae. i was talking to her on the phone one late night and i said to her, "you know what, mae, i feel like this is one of those conversations that take place in the kitchen, you know?"

she laughed. "really?"

i laughed too. "yeah, you know...where the mom talks to her daughter late at night because daughter runs to her because of life...and they have hot chocolate...we should be having hot chocolate right now..."

i grin. it's happy having mae around. =)

when i think of hot chocolate, i remember my bestfriend in the world, lala. we had hot chocolate late last night. i had brought cocoa powder with me and evaporated milk to go with a night of solemn conversation.

we tried to make it in the kitchen of her house. she took a pan, filled it with water, and informed me that the way to make it was to dump all the cocoa powder into a bowl, put some water and sugar into it, make a paste of those three ingredients and then scoop the mixture into the boiling water. and voila!

i was mildly perplexed. i said to her that the way i did it was that i scooped just three teaspoons of cocoa powder into my 3/4s cup of hot water, add milk and sugar, stir, and then voila! my hot chocolate in my favorite pastel pink cup!

she whipped around, faced me, and exclaimed, "you mean you didn't know?! all this time, you've been doing it like milo!"

i agreeably let her go on with her process and it was only a little while later that she realized that her process was the process for cocoa syrup and NOT for a cup of hot chocolate...hehehe...too late, we'd already done some damage...but! it wasn't too far gone to be un-salvageable...we still managed to have our hot chocolate...and our solemn but happy conversation...=)

when i think of hot chocolate, i think of breakfasts of mcdo, i think of milo with cream, i think of a rainy and thunderous day.

when i think of hot chocolate, i think of...hot chocolate. =)

when i think of hot chocolate...
