perseids shooting stars

funny, but i have never seen a star fall. not unless you count the few times star-falling has been featured in the movies. but are you able to wish on a star that's featured in reel and not in real life?

so i never got to wish on a star. which wasn't much of a big deal to me anyway except that it bothered me that i was missing out on something so magical for some. where's the magic in a falling star anyway?

is it like that time in meteor shower, the taiwanese series? i never watched that but a friend told me of this scene there...sanchai (i don't know how it is really spelled) was standing on a balcony with dao ming zhu and dao was telling her that if a star should not fall that night then they were really not meant to be. the two waited for even just one star to streak across the sky but as time wore on, it was beginning to get apparent to dao that there'll be no star to fall, and he turned away from her. but a moment or two after his leavetaking, star upon star started lighting the sky, falling one after the other, and tears started streaming down sanchai's cheeks as she called out his name in vain for him to witness with her the meteor shower that was befalling upon them.

so anyway, since i was a bit too indolent to crane my neck at the nightsky for falling stars, i settled on wishing on rainbows instead.

but today, i woke up and i opened my google. i was standing a bit far off when i noticed the change in motif in its search engine. and i said to chaida, 'oh, google turned black.'

chaida approached my laptop and said, 'oh, there's a meteor shower today?'

and we both searched it in the internet. weather permitting, there'll be an average of 100 streaks per hour in the sky tonight or tomorrow night, no special equipment needed, just your simple, beautiful, unaided eyes.

you never know, maybe a sanchai-dao ming zhu thing could be happening tonight. two star-crossed lovers trying to decipher their fate in the stars. are they or are they not meant to be? the answer is in the skies...

hehehe.

or maybe tonight, girls from ilang can look up to the sky and wish for unos or boyfriends for that matter. or maybe chaida can finally have her wish of superhuman powers, hearty becomes hannah montana philippine version, lala will have all the books she wants in this world.

me? i want nothing for myself. joke lang. lol rofl. hehehe. i wish for nothing more than to do God's will. again, rofl. so pious, cor? hehe. kapanipaniwala ba ang halo mo? hehe. secret nalang. or more like it's in that david archuleta song, 'i keep holding out for what i don't know...lalala..(humming)'

anyway. the skies and me have a date later tonight. =)
