Here's how I want to start the New Year. :)

"When man first started to travel, he was inspired by his journey as much as his destination. But over time, the world became impatient. Getting somewhere became more important than how you got there. Today, there are people who still think that getting there is half the fun…people who believe your journey should be as inspirational as your destination."

  1. When I was six years old, I managed to get into the honors list in my class. And I remember that my parents told me that my reward for that was my first ever flight on an airplane.

And since this is a blog where I never pretend to be cool or apparently, anything resembling respectability for that matter, I also here recall a conversation with my sister when I was still a freshman in college. It was 2002, and it was May. We were at my sister's boarding house in Ermita and I held up to her the plane ticket stubs.

"Should we keep this?" I asked.

    "Para saan?" she answered me.

    "For souvenir..."

"Isang beses ka lang ba mag-pplane?" she asked, smirking at my provincial-ness.

I responded that planes are so expensive. We should just travel by ship next time to cut expense. She smirked all the more, encouraging me to do that worthy deed myself while she'll take the plane and will just wait for me at the end terminal. "See you!" she mocked further.

Needless to say, I ended up not keeping the plane stubs. And I've not kept one all these years...Hehe.

But now I think I'd like to savor airflight again. And I may not be ever keeping those stubs, but next time, I'll be taking more note of the experience and will observe or keep the moments. :)

    PS

But have I now thoroughly destroyed whatever respectability I might still bear in your mind with this recountal??? Hehe.
